The California Farm Water Coalition actively engages with the public and media on farm water issues. Engagement takes numerous forms and occurs at many levels.

Meet Bill Diedrich, the Past President of the CFWC Board of Directors! 🌱 Bill started with a degree in Crop Science from Cal Poly, SLO, and turned a passion for plant protection into a thriving pesticide application business. After 36 successful years, he sold it to Helena Chemical Company and continued farming, a venture that began in 1989. Now, Bill's two sons manage the farm, and he cherishes time with his wife Karen, their 3 boys, and 11 amazing grandchildren. According to a study titled The Magnitude of California's Water Challenges, the state's annual water supply losses over the next few decades are expected to be caused by:- reducing groundwater overdraft by 2-3 million acre-feet (MAF)- reducing water from the Colorado River by 0.5-0.8 MAF - increasing required environmental flows by 1-2 MAF- and the effects of climate change by 1-3 MAF.
